We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced audiologist to provide comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services in a busy ENT clinic setting. The role will focus on the assessment and management of hearing loss, including evaluation, fitting, and programming of hearing aids and cochlear implants.
The ideal candidate would have a minimum of one year of experience in an academic medical center working collaboratively with otolaryngologists and related professionals and experience with student supervision and clinical teaching.
Responsibilities:
Perform basic and advanced diagnostic audiologic evaluations across the lifespan
Interpret and analyze test results to develop patient-centered treatment plans
Counsel patients and families on hearing loss, its impact, and management strategies
Manage the ongoing needs of hearing aid and cochlear implant users, including programming, troubleshooting, and follow-up care
Conduct verification of hearing aid fittings using best-practice technology
Administer comprehensive cochlear implant evaluations, including aided speech perception testing, and determine candidacy for implantable hearing technologies
Counsel patients on implantable technology options, function, and realistic expectations
Perform diagnostic testing for cochlear implant devices in both clinical and OR settings
Program and manage all available implantable devices in the adult population
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), daytime position. Strong collaborative communication skills and the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maximize patient outcomes are essential.
Education Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited Audiology program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed as an Audiologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
BLS within 3 months of hire date.
Professional Experience Requirements:
Audiologist Experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse customer, colleague, and vendor population. This includes listening, sales, and problem solving skills. Strong keyboard/computer/Audiology diagnostic and hearing aid software and equipment experience. Must be able to organize time and prioritize numerous duties. Must deal with customers in a caring and respectful manner.
